WynnBET is a mobile bookie that made its debut in the United States in 2020. It is part of the Wynn Resorts empire, which owns some iconic casino resorts in Las Vegas, Boston and Macau. The company bought a European bookie called BetBull in 2020 to serve as its springboard into the world of mobile sports betting.

Pros
  • Good customer service
  • Loyalty program
  • Reduced juice specials
  • Strong focus on mobile betting
  • User-friendly interface
Cons
  • Odds could be better
  • Narrow range of banking options
  • Doesn’t cover many sports
  • Only available in certain states

WynnBET Review

It then launched WynnBET, which has a very strong focus on mobile sports betting and casino gaming. We downloaded the WynnBET app, claimed the bonus, placed various bets and requested payouts to uncover its strengths and weaknesses. Read on to discover our verdict on this mobile bookie.

States Available

WynnBET has gained licenses to launch mobile sports betting in these states:

  • Arizona
  • Colorado
  • Indiana
  • Michigan
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • Tennessee
  • Virginia

Mobile App Design

WynnBET is one of the more basic mobile bookies. It runs on a commonly used engine from OpenBet, but the team has chosen a very simple, streamlined design and layout. It absorbed the staff from BetBull, who were essentially trying to fuse a mobile bookie with a social media platform, and it is seemingly trying to appeal to mobile users with short attention spans.

The app is very easy to use, so it should appeal to beginners. You can search for games or use the simple navigation system to locate sports events you’re interested in. It’s a fast and dependable mobile app, and the download and registration processes are straightforward. You can download the app from Google Play or the Apple Store in any of the states mentioned above.

You won’t find many modern features like live streaming and bet editing tools, so it isn’t at the level of rivals like FanDuel and BetMGM, but it should appeal to people that want to bet on the main sports leagues quickly and efficiently.

Security

This is a secure mobile bookie. It has only been around for a couple of years, but it hasn’t suffered any safety problems in that time. It’s part of Wynn Interactive, which is a major company with security experts, so it knows how to keep your funds and your details safe with strong encryption tools.

We’ll just provide our usual advice: choose a strong password, keep it to yourself, don’t log in while you’re on unsecured WiFi networks, don’t leave your phone lying around while you’re logged into the app, and so on.

Sportsbook

WynnBET doesn’t cover as many sports as the other mobile bookies that we have reviewed over the past few years. The team has gone for a minimalist approach. It makes the app quick and easy to use, but you might be turned off by the lack of variety.

These are the sports featured at this mobile bookie:

  • Football | NFL and NCAAF
  • Basketball | NBA and NCAAB
  • Baseball | MLB
  • Hockey | NHL, KHL
  • Aussie Rules
  • Boxing
  • Cycling
  • Golf
  • MMA
  • Motorsports
  • Rugby
  • Soccer
  • Tennis

You’ll notice some omissions from that list, including table tennis, volleyball, darts, snooker, handball, lacrosse, winter sports and so on. Most mobile bookies offer bets on a wide variety of leagues from around the world, but that isn’t the case at WynnBET. It sticks to the major US leagues and a few prominent tournaments held overseas.

Betting Markets

WynnBET offers a pretty selection of betting markets on each game. You’ll find a standard point spread, total points line and moneyline on an NFL game, along with team totals and a limited choice of player props, but it often has just 10 to 15 betting options in total for most of the week. You’ll find more betting markets just before the game begins. There’s a same game parlay builder on a couple of sports, which broadens your options.

It tends to have more betting markets on NBA games, including a standard spread and total, plus moneyline, team totals, betting on quarters and halves, and player props on points, assists, turnovers, threes made, rebounds, double double and triple double, blocks and steals.

You’ll find more than 100 betting markets on big soccer games, with exotics markets on bookings, minutes, corners and so on, plus handicaps, correct scores, various total goals markets, and player props on first goalscorer, anytime goalscorer and last goalscorer.

WynnBET is continually improving in this area. When it launched, there were just a few betting markets within each game and you couldn’t build same game parlays. It has significantly broadened the choice, which should help this mobile bookie compete with some of its established competitors.

The odds are okay. It normally provides standard juice lines, but we found -110 / -115 on the point spread on a big NFL game when writing up this mobile bookie review, which is disappointing.

Live Betting

You’ll be able to tap on the “Live Now” tab within the app to check out a list of games you can bet on in-play. It features football, basketball, soccer, tennis, baseball and hockey games, although the choice is smaller than some rival mobile bookies.

There’s no live streaming. You’ll be shown the score of a game and the time, but no other stats, so it’s a pretty basic live betting platform. However, it does provide lots of in-play betting options on certain sports. You can expect 70 live betting markets on big football and soccer games, but fewer than 10 on college basketball, so it’s a bit of a mixed bag.

Racebook

WynnBET doesn’t have an online racebook section, so you’ll need to look elsewhere to bet on thoroughbred and harness racing from around the world. Some of the best racebooks we’ve found are at BetUS, MyBookie and BetOnline. Those sites take bets on loads of tracks in America and in countries like Australia and Britain. You’ll get bonuses and rebates too, so they’re highly recommended.

Casino

There’s a WynnBET online casino, but it’s only available if you’re in Michigan or New Jersey. The company behind WynnBET clearly knows how to run a good casino, as it owns some major properties in Las Vegas and Macau.

The online casino has a fantastic selection of slots. There are more than 200 in total, ranging from old-school classics to major new releases. The range includes Megaways games, progressive jackpot and 3D slots. There are 13 virtual blackjack games and 13 roulette games, while you’ll also find some great virtual table poker and video poker games.

There isn’t a specific section for live dealer games, which is strange, but you’ll find them dotted around the app, including Infinite Blackjack and First Person Lightning Roulette/

There’s a 100% deposit match welcome bonus available to new casino players, and it goes up to $1,000. This offer only has a 10x rollover, which is great. Slots count 100%, but only 20% of what you bet on video poker, roulette and some other table games will count, and only 10% of your blackjack bets will count. That means the blackjack rollover is actually 100x, but that’s still pretty good when you factor in the high RTP of blackjack if you follow the right strategy.

Welcome Bonus

WynnBET offers a standard $1,000 risk-free bet bonus. It’s identical to the sign-up offers at FanDuel, BetMGM and various other mobile bookies in the USA.

It’s pretty simple. Just sign up and place your qualifying bet on any game, provided the odds are between -150 and +10,000. If it loses you’ll get a 100% refund up to a thousand bucks.

However, you won’t be able to cash it out and walk away, so it isn’t really risk-free. The refund is presented to you in site credit, and you need to turn it over once before you can cash out. It’s counted as a free play, and not a cash bonus, so you don’t get to keep the bet amount if your bonus wager wins. That means you’ll need to place a winning bet at odds of +100 if you want to regain your initial deposit amount.

The minimum deposit and bet for this bonus is $20. You’ll get your free bet credit in 72 hours if your bet loses, and you then need to complete the rollover within 10 days or the bonus funds will be removed from your mobile bookie account.

That’s the offer in most states, but you can find some better bonuses in New Jersey, Arizona and Colorado. For example, there’s a 200% wager match up to $1,500, and a “Bet $5, Win $400” bonus, where you can get $400 in site credit by landing a winning bet on a spread, total or moneyline with odds of -120 or greater.

Promotions

In 2021, WynnBET announced that it would cut back its spend on promotions after revealing that the US market was becoming unsustainable.

However, you’ll still find some good bonuses in certain states. They tend not to be available in Indiana and Michigan, which is a shame for bettors in those states, but in Arizona, Colorado, New Jersey, Tennessee and Virginia you should find some good options.

There’s a parlay bonus available on football and basketball. If you bet $20 on a four-leg parlay, you’ll get a $10 free bet, no matter if the parlay wins or loses. The parlay must have cumulative odds of +400 or greater to qualify.

Another offer gets you a $50 free football bet if you place four separate bets worth at least $50 on football games each weekend. There are one-hour reduced juice specials each Thursday from 5pm to 6pm ET each day. You’ll find a few more bonuses here and there, plus some odds boosts, but there isn’t a loyalty program.

Banking

You can pay into your WynnBET mobile bookie account using Visa or Mastercard, but it doesn’t accept cards from providers like American Express or Discover. If you want to use an e-wallet, PayPal is the only one available. You can alternatively send an echeck using VIP Preferred, and there’s a WynnBET Play+ card that you can sign up for too.

If you want to use PayNearMe, Skrill, Neteller, cash at the cage, Amex, Discover or crypto, you’ll have to find a different mobile bookie. WynnBET likes to keep it simple, so you’ll not find too much choice.

That’s apparent when you check out the payout options. There are only three to choose from: Play+, PayPal or echeck. It takes three to five business days for WynnBET to consider your withdrawal request and send out your winnings. That’s slow compared to some of the other mobile bookies we’ve reviewed, some of which issue same day payouts to mobile bettors.

Customer Service

You’ll be able to speak to the customer service reps 24/7 by tapping on the live chat icon within the WynnBET app. It would be better to have a phone line, as typing on a small mobile screen can be a bit of a clunky process at times, but the reps are quick to respond and they provide useful advice.

There’s a decent help section within the app too, so you might find the answers you’re looking for in there. If you want to know about its responsible gambling options, there’s a specific section for that.

Conclusion

WynnBET is an average mobile bookie. It has some strong selling points: the user interface is quick and simple, the mobile betting process is effortless and it has some useful tools. For those reasons, it’s a good option for newcomers.

However, seasoned bettors will probably want something more sophisticated. It doesn’t cover many sports, and the choice of betting markets is slim. The odds aren’t great either. Payouts are slow, and there aren’t many withdrawal methods.

There are some good bonuses, but only if you live in a handful of states dotted about the country. For all of those reasons, it’s hard to see how WynnBET plans to challenge rivals like BetMGM and DraftKings, which are better than it in every department.
